India is completing 75 years of its independence in 2022. PMAY is the government’s ambitious mission of home for all. CII said that the provision of insurance has not already been added to the scheme.

Industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has advocated the introduction of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana afresh. The industry body on Sunday said that by re-introducing PMAY, there is a need to mandatorily add the provision of debt-linked life insurance for all lenders. This will ensure that the goal of providing houses to all is not deviated even in the event of death or disability of the principal borrower.

Let us tell you that India is completing 75 years of its independence in 2022. PMAY is the government’s ambitious mission of providing a home for all.

Industry body CII said that the provision of insurance has not already been added to the scheme. As such, the scheme does not cover the risk of death or disability of the borrower. If insurance is included in the scheme, then in any case the goal of home for all will be achieved. The organization’s Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said that the life and livelihood of citizens has been affected due to the pandemic. Protection of families has become very important in this era.

People from all sections of the society are struggling to meet the cost of their medical treatment. At the same time people are also facing the pressure of unemployment and inflation. He said that by introducing the provision of insurance in the scheme from the very beginning, we will be able to overcome the lack of risk protection through minimal changes.
