The daughter of an elderly man living in Old Rajendra Nagar called on PCR and told that her father has been suffering from fever for the past few days. Her daughter also informed the patient about some other serious health problems, but also said that she feared that her father might have corona and that is why she does not want to go to them.
New Delhi: Due to the fear of Corona, when an elderly man left his family to trust God, the Delhi Police came forward to help him. A constable played an important role in saving the life of the elderly and somehow removed him from the house and admitted him to the hospital.
According to the information, at around 11 am on Sunday morning, the daughter of an elderly man living in Old Rajendra Nagar called on PCR and told that her father has been suffering from fever for the past few days. Her daughter also informed the patient about some other serious health problems, but also said that she feared that her father might have corona and that is why she does not want to go to them. As soon as the information was received, constable Raju Ram (32), who was posted at the Rajendra Nagar police station, was surprised to see a poster outside the house when he reached the address mentioned. Muralidhar (80), who was living there on that poster, had written that if he dies, his body should be handed over to the police.
Investigation revealed that Muralidhar, who lives on the third floor of this house, had been a CID officer. They have three daughters, who are married. Two of them daughters live in Delhi and one outside. His daughter, who lives in Kalkaji, called the police and informed them about it. Constable Raju Ram, who arrived on the spot, called a Cats ambulance to take the elderly to the hospital. At first, the elderly refused to go to the hospital, after which the ambulance had to be sent back. Raju then called his fellow constable Pradeep and the two policemen went upstairs wearing PPE kits. After much persuasion, Muralidhar agreed to go to the hospital, after which Constable Raju called an ambulance again and took him to RML Hospital.
During this time there was a challenge before the policemen to protect themselves from the risk of infection. In such a situation, it took three hours to shift the patient from home to hospital with full precaution and following the prescribed procedure. After being taken to RML Hospital, the constable also tried to feed Muralidhar food and milk or juice, but he refused to eat anything and asked for water only, after which the police brought water for him. Meanwhile, doctors did an X-ray of his chest, which found a lot of infection. His oxygen level was also found to be low, after which doctors admitted Muralidhar to the hospital for treatment. Policemen later phoned her daughter to inform her that her father had been admitted to the hospital. His daughter also thanked the policemen for this. Raju Rajendra Nagar, a constable originally from Sikar in Rajasthan, lives in a barrack in the police station. His wife and children live in the village.
