It is expected that both sections of the expressway will be opened for vehicles this week. Both sections of the expressway are 32 kilometers long. 17 kilometers of the Delhi section is elevated. The remaining 15 kilometers fall in the Ghaziabad and Baghpat border.
The work of the expressway has been completed by dividing it into two sections. The expressway has been connected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway at Mavikala village near Baghpat. It is being claimed that on Saturday, NHAI had completed the preparations for the inauguration. Both sections of the expressway were to be inaugurated on Sunday. Police and NHAI officials were put on duty.
Late Saturday night, NHAI officials were informed that the inauguration program has been postponed due to some reason. The date of inauguration will be decided afresh. Let us tell you that NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav had inspected the expressway recently and took stock of the preparations for the inauguration.
Connected to Eastern Peripheral
The expressway is from Akshardham to Laxminagar, Geeta Colony, Lohe Ka Pul, Shastri Park, New Usmanpur, Kartar Nagar, Khajuri Khas Chowk, Biharipur, Ankur Vihar, Sharda City, Pavi Pushta, Mandola NBCC Township to Bapgat. It has been prepared till here. This expressway has been connected to the Eastern Peripheral in Baghpat. Eastern Peripheral is already connected to Meerut Expressway.
Preparations to get it inaugurated by Prime Minister
Prime Minister Narendra Modi can inaugurate both sections of Dehradun Expressway. People are hoping that this expressway can be inaugurated before the announcement of assembly elections in Delhi.
Dheeraj Singh, Project Director of NHAI said, “Two sections of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are ready for inauguration. All the inspections of the expressway have been completed. A large number of drivers will benefit when the expressway opens.”
