New Expressway: If you want to enjoy driving at a speed of 100 kmph in the mountains, just wait till January. You will get full thrill on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway which is starting from next year. Asia’s longest elevated wildlife corridor has also been built on it.
New Expressway: You must have driven a lot on the mountains, but one problem in this is that your speed decreases. From January, you will get the real thrill of driving on the mountain, when you will take your car through the mountains at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. This new expressway built by the National Highway Authority (NHAI) will be completely opened to the common man from January 2025. From its start, the distance which takes 6 to 6.5 hours to cover till now, you will complete it in just 2.5 hours.
We are talking about the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which is 210 kilometers long. The most special thing about this expressway is that it will complete your journey by passing through the mountains. Not only this, Asia’s largest wildlife elevated corridor has also been built on this expressway. Currently, it takes 6 to 7 hours to reach Dehradun from Delhi, but after the opening of this expressway, you will reach Dehradun in just 2.5 hours.
Where will the expressway pass through
This expressway passes through Akshardham in Delhi and goes to Dehradun. In this distance of 210 km, Baghpat, Shamli and Saharanpur districts of western UP fall. This means that this expressway is no less than a boon for those going to these districts from Delhi. Where one can reach within just one hour. Along with making separate lanes for buses, truck stops and interchanges have also been made on it. Restaurant and washroom facilities have also been provided at many places on the expressway.
How much money was invested
NHAI has invested about 13 thousand crores in building this expressway. This project is a part of the Bharatmala project. The most special thing about this expressway is that a 12 km elevated wildlife corridor has been built on it, which will pass over the Rajaji National Park. This park is known for elephants and wild animals. Obviously, you will be able to see wild animals from above the expressway and enjoy a jungle safari.
Complete security arrangements
Complete security arrangements have been made for the safety of passengers on this expressway. Along with setting up a trauma center on the side of the expressway, ambulance, fire brigade and other emergency services have also been put on action mode. To prevent accidents, railings have been installed on both sides and wildlife fencing has been done, so that any untoward accident can be avoided when there is a crowd of animal watchers on the elevated corridor.
