Gorakhpur-Shamli Greenfield Expressway
There is a plan to build a Greenfield Expressway from Gorakhpur to Shamli. This expressway will connect Purvanchal to West UP. It is expected that its construction work can also be started by the end of this year.
What length
The length of the Greenfield Expressway from Gorakhpur to Shamli will be around 700 km. It will be called the second largest expressway of UP.
Journey from Purvanchal to West UP
The construction of Greenfield Expressway from Gorakhpur to Shamli will make it easier to reach Eastern Uttar Pradesh from Western Uttar Pradesh. A large section of people will benefit from the construction of this expressway.
It will pass through 22 districts
The expressway will pass through 22 districts of UP namely Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Gonda, Bahraich, Lucknow, Sitapur, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Bareilly, Rampur, Moradabad, Sambhal, Amroha, Bijnor, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur.
Preparation of DPR
According to media reports, preparations are being made to prepare the DPR of this expressway. After it is finalized, its map will be revealed.
The speed of vehicles will increase
This Greenfield Expressway will also help in increasing the speed of vehicles in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, the connectivity of the state will also improve.
Preparations to land fighter planes
There are plans to develop a facility for landing fighter aircraft on the expressway just like the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and Purvanchal Expressway. So that planes can be landed here in case of emergency.
Airstrip will be built
The Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway will pass near the border of India and Nepal. It will also promote road connectivity. An airstrip will also be built on the expressway. It will be used to deal with the challenges coming from China via Nepal.
The distance will be reduced
Currently, the journey between Gorakhpur and Shamli takes around 15 hours. This journey will be reduced to just 8 hours.
Where will it start from?
According to NHAI officials, this expressway will start from Gogwan Jalalpur. If reports are to be believed, the construction of the expressway can start by the end of this year. It is estimated to cost Rs 35000 crore to build it.
