Gorakhpur Shamli Expressway News: Discussion on the plan to build Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway has intensified. This expressway will pass through 22 districts of the state. This will further improve the connectivity of UP. This will be the second expressway connecting one part of eastern UP to another part of western UP.
Barabanki: Consideration has started on the plan to build a new expressway in Uttar Pradesh. A Greenfield Expressway has been planned between Gorakhpur and Shamli. The nearly 700 km long expressway will connect Gorakhpur in Purvanchal to Shamli in western UP. This expressway will pass through 22 districts of the state. A large population of the state will benefit from the construction of this expressway. Connectivity will improve in Uttar Pradesh. First Ganga Expressway and then we will help in establishing the state as an expressway state by strengthening its infrastructure through Gorakhpur Family Expressway.
Construction is going on continuously in UP
Expressways are being constructed continuously in UP. The foundation stone of Yamuna Expressway and Noida-Greater Noida Expressway was laid during the Mayawati government. At the same time, the Akhilesh government completed the construction of Agra-Lucknow Expressway. During the tenure of about seven and a half years of the Yogi government, the construction work of Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway has been completed. Apart from this, the work of Delhi-Meerut Expressway has also been completed.
Work is underway on the plan to build the state’s longest Ganga Expressway, about a thousand kilometers long. In the first phase of the Ganga Expressway, the pace of construction of the expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj has been accelerated. At the same time, in the second phase, the construction process has been started between Prayagraj and Ballia.
Roadmap of new expressway prepared
Big information has come to light about the Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway. The roadmap of the second longest expressway of the state has been prepared by NHAI. It will connect to 22 districts between Gorakhpur and Shamli. This Greenfield Expressway will help in increasing the speed of vehicles in the state. Preparations are underway to prepare the DPR of this scheme. After this, its complete map will be revealed.
Will be connected to Barabanki
The Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway will pass through a large part of Barabanki. It will cover an area of about 50 kilometers of the district. Barabanki has been included in the important area in Lucknow State Capital Region. Therefore, this expressway project is considered important. On this expressway, the facility of landing fighter planes will be developed on the lines of Agra-Lucknow Expressway and Purvanchal Expressway. In case of emergency, planes can be landed there.
Another update has come regarding Barabanki. A plan has been made to make the Barabanki-Bahraich highway a four-lane highway like the Ayodhya highway. For this, preparations are being made to buy land from farmers. A new bridge will be built on the Saryu river in the Ramnagar area on the highway. Project Director Saurabh Chaurasia has said that the land will be acquired soon.
Will also be connected to other expressways
The Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway will be connected to many expressways. This will help in reaching from one corner of the state to another faster. This very important Greenfield Expressway connecting the eastern and western regions of the state will also be connected to the Ambala-Shamli Economic Corridor. Apart from this, this expressway will also be given connectivity to the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. This will eliminate the need to change routes more to reach Delhi from Gorakhpur.

The Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway will pass through 22 districts of the state. It mainly includes Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Gonda, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Bahraich, Lucknow, Sitapur, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Bareilly, Rampur, Moradabad, Sambhal, Amroha, Bijnor, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Shamli. NHAI Project Director Saurabh Chaurasia says that DPR has not been prepared for the expressway yet. A decision can be taken in the next meeting regarding this.
