The 6-lane Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway project in Maharashtra is being constructed to improve connectivity between major Shaktipeeths, temples and pilgrimage places in the state.

New Expressway: The construction of expressways is going on at a fast pace in different parts of the country. In this series, Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway is being prepared in Maharashtra. The special thing is that with the completion of this 802 km long expressway, the journey of 18 to 20 hours will be completed in just eight to 10 hours. Let us tell you which cities this expressway will pass through.

Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has applied afresh for environmental clearance for the 6 lane Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway project. This road project in Maharashtra is being built to improve connectivity between major Shaktipeeths, temples and pilgrimage places of the state.

The Shaktipeeth Express will start from Pavanar (Wardha district) in Maharashtra and end at Patradevi on the Maharashtra-Goa border. This expressway will pass through several districts including Yavatmal, Nanded, Latur, Solapur, Kolhapur and Sindhudurg.

With a length of 802 km, this expressway will be larger than the 701 km long Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway in Maharashtra.

The expressway is expected to reduce the travel time between Nagpur and Goa from the current 18-20 hours to just 8-10 hours.

The road project has received a lot of support in Vidarbha and Marathwada, but is facing strong opposition in Sangli and Kolhapur districts. Because, there is concern among the people about the environmental impact and loss of agricultural land. However, the state government is working fast to resolve all these issues.

Let us tell you that work is going on on some special expressways in Maharashtra. These include Jalna-Nanded Samruddhi Expressway, Chirle-Panna Devi Konkan Expressway and Pune Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Expressway, along with this, the state is also expected to benefit a lot from the country’s longest Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
