Agra Gwalior Expressway: The expressway being built between Agra and Gwalior will enable the distance between the two cities to be covered in just 1 hour instead of 3 hours. People travelling from Delhi and Noida to Gwalior will also benefit from this.

New Delhi. It will now take just an hour to reach the ancient fort city of Gwalior from the Taj city of Agra. The Greenfield Expressway between the two cities is set to be started this year. Union Minister Ajay Tamta has announced that the 88.4 km long 6 lane Greenfield Highway will be started soon. After the start of this highway, the distance between the two cities will also be reduced by about 32 km. Also, 2 hours will be saved to complete the journey.

The distance from Gwalior to Agra is currently 120 km and it takes about 3 hours to travel between the two cities. The distance of the new highway is 88 km and it will take less than 1 hour to cover it. The cost of building the 6 lane Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Highway will be Rs 4,216 crore. Those going to Gwalior and Jhansi from Delhi-Noida will also benefit from this.

It will also be easy to go from Delhi to Gwalior

After the Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Highway is ready, it will also become easy to go from Delhi-Noida to Gwalior. Currently, the distance between the two cities is about 360 km. It takes 6 to 7 hours to cover it. After the completion of this highway, this distance can be covered in just 3 to 4 hours through the Yamuna Expressway.

The highway will be connected to 3 expressways

With the completion of the Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Highway, connectivity between MP and UP will become easier. This highway will be linked to 3 more expressways. It will also be linked to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. After this, many cities of UP, Rajasthan and MP will be connected to each other.

8 villages of UP, 7 villages of MP will benefit

The Agra-Gwalior highway will pass through a total of 21 villages. Of these, 8 villages will be from UP, while 7 villages of Madhya Pradesh will benefit from it. 6 villages of Rajasthan will also come along this highway. After the highway is ready, not only will the land prices of these villages increase, but employment opportunities will also be created from here.
