New Delhi. The work on the first phase of the 210 km long Delhi-Dehradun Expressway connecting the national capital to Dehradun has been completed. Now it is just waiting for its inauguration. The first part of the expressway, about 32 km long, connects Akshardham Temple in New Delhi to Baghpat in UP. With its opening, it will take only 25 minutes to reach Baghpat from Delhi. Currently, it takes a lot of time to cover the distance from Akshardham to Baghpat because vehicles have to pass through densely populated areas like Geeta Colony, Khajuri Khas, Mandola and Panchgaon. With the opening of the expressway, people traveling from Delhi to Baghpat as well as those living in the colonies under Karawal Nagar and Mustafabad assembly will also get convenience in movement.

From Akshardham to EPE crossing, this expressway passes through the densely populated areas of East Delhi. 18 km of road has been made elevated here. Due to the construction of the elevated road, vehicles will not have to pass through densely populated areas like Geeta Colony, Khajuri Khas, Mandola and Panchgaon. Vehicles will pass above. This will provide relief from traffic jams to drivers going to Baghpat, Saharanpur and Uttarakhand. The entire part of the highway from Akshardham Temple to Geeta Colony crematorium is on the ground.
Cars will run at a speed of 100 km per hour
The speed limit for light vehicles on the elevated part of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway has been fixed at 100 km per hour and for heavy vehicles at 80 km per hour. For traffic going from Delhi to UP, there will be entry points at Akshardham, Geeta Colony, Shamshan Ghat (Kailash Nagar), Sonia Vihar, Vijay Vihar and Mandola on the 6-lane expressway. Similarly, exit points will be made at Khajuri Chowk, Sonia Vihar, Vijay Vihar and Mandola. Similarly, for traffic coming from UP to Delhi, exit points will be made at Mandola, Vijay Vihar and 5th Pushta and exit points will be made at Mandola, Loni, Vijay Vihar, Usmanpur, Shamshan Ghat (Kailash Nagar), Geeta Colony and Akshardham. Drivers using the expressway in Delhi will not have to pay toll.
People coming from Baghpat UP who have to go to North-East Delhi, Kashmiri Gate Bus Station or Central Delhi will get down from Gamdi Pancham Pushta. People from North-East Delhi who have to go towards Akshardham and Noida can get on the expressway from Kaithwada. This will give them relief from the traffic jam on Shastri Park as well as Gandhi Nagar Pushta Road. People coming from Yamunapar and Noida who have to go to Rohini, Pitampura and Haryana via Outer Ring Road, this expressway will save them from the traffic jam at Hanuman Mandir and Majnu Ka Tila.
6-hour journey will be completed in 2.5 hours
After the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is fully operational, the journey from Delhi to Dehradun will be completed in 2.5 hours instead of 6 hours. The journey from Delhi to Haridwar will take 2 hours less through this route. At the same time, it will be possible to reach Rishikesh from Delhi in 3 hours. Asia’s longest wildlife corridor is being built on the expressway. With the construction of this corridor, there will be no face-to-face encounter between wild animals and humans.
