In the year 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of this express. Whose total length is expected to be 610 to 690 km. Till now this journey takes 12 to 14 hours, but after the construction of this expressway, this distance is going to be reduced to half. That is, Kolkata can be reached from Banaras in 6 to 7 hours only. This expressway will pass through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.

The expressway will pass through 18 districts

Starting from Varanasi in UP, this expressway enters Bihar after Chandauli. From where it can enter Jharkhand via Bhabua, Sasaram, Aurangabad, Gaya. Where it will pass through Chatra, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Bokaro districts. In West Bengal, it reaches Purulia, Bankura, Bishnupur, Panskura, Haldia, Diamond Harbor and Kolkata. That is, during this time this expressway will pass through 18 districts.

This expressway, being built at a cost of Rs 35 thousand crore, will be constructed under the Greenfield project. The largest part of this expressway, 323 km, is to be built in West Bengal. While the smallest part is 22 km in UP. While 169 km is to be built in Bihar and 196 km in Jharkhand. This entire project will be completed in 13 phases.

Agriculture and employment will expand

With the construction of this expressway, 18 districts of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal will develop. At the same time, the speed of people will also increase. People will be able to drive cars at a speed of 120 km per hour. While its construction will expand agriculture, industrial development, economy and development.
