DND-KMP Expressway: NHAI has started preparations to run traffic on DND-KMP Expressway in Faridabad from November. Till now the deadline for completion of this expressway in the city limits was set as 31 October.
National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has started preparations to run traffic on the DND-KMP Expressway within Faridabad from the month of November. Till now the deadline for completion of this expressway within the city limits was 31 October, but due to incomplete work, it will now be opened for traffic from next month.
Currently, traffic is running on the service road. Currently, the final phase of work on this expressway is going on within the city limits. The work of service road, street lights on the expressway, ramps to connect with nearby roads on both sides, white stripes, zebra crossing etc. is almost complete. Only minor work is left around the flyover of the expressway. Work of planting trees is left under some flyovers, while lights have to be installed in some. Similar minor works are left. The service road near the petrol pump in Sector-17 has to be straightened.
You will be able to travel directly to Mandkaula village
The NHAI management hopes that the flyover work from Delhi-Faridabad’s Mithapur border to Sector-65 Expressway will be completed by November 1. As soon as this work is done, 46.5 km of this 59 km long expressway will be completed in Haryana’s border. This work was completed last year itself. From next month, drivers will be able to travel directly from Mithapur in Delhi to Mandkaula village.
Painting will be done on the pillars of the flyover
Apart from the BPTP flyover, painting will be done on the pillars of Sector-3-8 flyover and Etmadpur flyover. Work is going on for this. On the other hand, out of this 59 km long expressway starting from DND flyover near Maharani Bagh in Delhi, 12.5 km part is being built in Delhi’s border. Construction work started late in Delhi’s border. At the same time, more than seven kilometers of the part is elevated. This expressway within Delhi is expected to be completed after March next year. Preparations are underway to connect it to Sarai Kale Khan bus stand via a flyover at Maharani Bagh.
NHAI Project Director Dheeraj Singh said, “Some work is left around Mithapur. Apart from this, some necessary testing is also to be done. There are final stage works like painting, which will be completed next month. This will be a completely toll free expressway for commuting from Faridabad to Delhi.”
