New expressway will be built from Ayodhya to Prayagraj, construction will be done from Parikrama Sthal to Pratapgarh

The National Highways Department is now going to construct an expressway instead of the four-lane on the left side of the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway. A total of Rs 5000 crore will be spent on the construction of this 90 km expressway.

The National Highways Department is now going to construct an expressway instead of the four-lane on the left side of the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway. A total of Rs 5000 crore will be spent on the construction of this 90 km expressway. This includes compensation for land acquisition of farmers along with the construction of the expressway. The project is to be completed in three years from the start of construction work.

The Ministry of National Highways and Road Transport has now planned to construct a new expressway instead of converting the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway into a four-lane. Under the plan, the highway was to be converted into a four-lane first. But like other four-lanes, the movement of small and rural vehicles was creating a big obstacle in the journey and there is always a fear of danger during the journey of long distance vehicles. In view of this, the ministry changed its old decision.

Now a plan has been made to construct an expressway by acquiring the land of farmers from the left side of the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway. The responsibility of making the DPR of the scheme has been given to TASPL Delhi. In which the new expressway is to be constructed at a distance of 90 kilometers from Gonde village Sonawaan in Pratapgarh district near the Parikrama Sthal Bharat Kund in Ayodhya.

The width of the expressway will be 38 meters

According to the DPR of the project, the width of the expressway has been fixed at 38 meters. It includes 15-15 meter carriageway on each side of the main expressway, a two meter folder, and a service road. Both sides of the expressway will be restricted. Neither cattle nor any vehicle will be able to enter from the middle.

Construction work will be done in two phases

According to the standards of the National Highway, the expressway will be constructed in two phases. In which the length of each phase has been fixed at 45-45 meters. In the first phase, the 84 Kosi Parikrama Sthal will be built from Ayodhya Bharat Kund Parikrama Marg to Katka at a distance of 45 km. The second phase will be built from Katka to Gonde village Sonawaan at a distance of 45 km. 60 percent of the project amount will be spent on compensation and 40 percent on compensation.

NOC will have to be taken from Air Force and UPDA: The National Highway Department will also have to take a no objection certificate from the Air Force and UPDA for the construction of the expressway. Because the air strip of Purvanchal Express is coming in the way of construction of the new expressway. Along with this, the crossing of Purvanchal Expressway is also getting obstructed in the construction of the new expressway.

Half a dozen ROBs and bridges will be constructed

Half a dozen ROBs and bridges will be constructed during the construction of the expressway. Which includes the construction of a total of half a dozen bridges including an overbridge on the Lucknow-Varanasi railway section and a six-lane flyover at a height of 18 meters at the Purvanchal Expressway crossing, six lanes on the Gomti river, bridges at the crossing of other roads. Entry of bikes and other rural vehicles is prohibited on the expressway.

Executive Engineer of National Highways Division, Sultanpur, Vikas Kumar Singh said that the construction of the expressway will be started after getting NOC from UPDA and Air Force and approval of the project worth five thousand crores. Each phase will take two years. If approved together, then both the phases may take two years or even three years.
