New expressway will be operational from December, making travel to six states including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan easier

According to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), eight phases of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is being built in nine phases, will be ready by December and vehicular movement will begin.

New Delhi. There is good news for the people of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. From December this year, transportation to all the cities of these states is going to become easier. Eight phases of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is being built in nine phases, will be ready and vehicular movement will begin. Two of these phases have already been opened and traffic is being operated.

According to the National Authority of India (NHAI), more than 80 percent of the work on the 1,386 km long Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been completed, it is the longest expressway in the country. The remaining work will also be completed in time. In this expressway, 96% of the work from Delhi to Vadodara (845 km) has been completed.

Which parts will be ready by December?

Sapur to Jawaharlal Nehru Port 95 km, Surat to Virar, Mumbai 291 km, Bharuch to Surat 38 km, Madhya Pradesh border to Gujarat 148 km, Sawai Madhopur to Jhalawar 159 km will be ready by December. Vadodara to Bharuch 87 km has already been completed, but it has not been opened to the public yet.

Expressway has been opened here right now

293 km long expressway from Delhi to Dausa Sawai Madhopur has been opened for traffic. Whereas, 245 km long expressway from Jhalawar-Ratlam-MP/Gujarat border has started operating.

This phase will start last

The expressway from Haryana to Mumbai will be ready this year, but the work from DND Delhi and Jewar to Sohna will be completed in June 2025 next year. To link the expressway from both the places, 90 km expressway is being constructed.

Relief to these major cities

The Delhi Mumbai Expressway will start from Sohna in Haryana and will go to Maharashtra via Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat. This will make the movement of people from Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Kota, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Surat and nearby cities easier.
