Government orders nationwide survey regarding fake toll plazas, fake tolls will be stopped

Executive Engineer of Public Works Department, Charanjit Rana said that approval has been received from the government to start the Fastag system at Bandhwadi Toll Plaza. Tender has to be done to select the bank. The tender will be issued as soon as the code of conduct is finalized. After this the Fastag facility can be started.

Gurugram: It is being claimed that there will soon be relief from the morning and evening jam at Bandhwadi toll plaza on Gurugram-Faridabad road. Fastag facility may start at toll plazas in June. The company operating the toll has installed equipment related to Fastag. PWD will float a tender to select the bank. As soon as the code of conduct is over, the tender will be issued and the process will be completed by the last week of June. You will get relief from the traffic jam.

There is a toll plaza at Bandhwadi on Faridabad-Gurugram road. People living in Mangar, Pali, Surajkund, Gwal Pahari, Ghata, Bandhwadi etc. along with people from Chhatarpur, Mehrauli, Sultanpur etc. of Delhi use this road. This road is under the Public Works Department. It was prepared by Reliance. There is a long queue of vehicles here from 8 to 10 in the morning and from 5 to 8 in the evening. Toll Plaza Manager Amit Sinha said that about 50 to 52 thousand vehicles cross the toll every day. Equipment has been installed at the toll plaza to start the Fastag system.

Time taken to complete transaction

At present, toll is collected through normal methods like cash and e-wallet. In such a situation, due to money transaction, people take five to 15 minutes to cross the road which used to take a few seconds. This time is very important during duty time. Many people pay toll on both sides at once, so that they can take advantage of the exemption in toll tax. After the toll tax is collected, a slip is given to the vehicle rider. After passing through the toll again, the employee sitting at the booth scans the slip and lifts the barrier to remove the vehicle, in such a situation it takes a lot of time to scan the slip.

Talk to people

Umesh Chaurasia, living in Jawar Colony, said that it takes about 25 minutes or more to cross the toll plaza in the morning and evening. Sometimes there is relief when the toll is made free when the police arrive. Fastag is expected to provide relief from jam. Jaideep Raj Saxena, resident of Sector 86, said that due to long queues of vehicles in the morning at Bandhwadi Toll Plaza, there is often delay in reaching the office. There are boards installed here to start the Fastag system soon, it is expected that the facility will be available soon. Some time will be saved in commuting between Gurgaon and Faridabad.
