Permission will soon be given for planes from Manduri Airport being built here. The technical team of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) conducted a thorough inspection of the runway security arrangements, ATC tower and medical facilities for two days. The technical team of DGCA will submit its report to the Airport Authority of India. After this, a decision will be taken on starting flights from Manduri Airport.
The airport was completed two years ago in Manduri village on the Azamgarh-Ayodhya road, 12 km from the city. For expansion, land has to be acquired in nearby villages. The expansion of Manduri Airport was stopped due to the agitation of farmers and villagers.
Due to this, the plan to start flights from here was also put on hold. The DGCA team reached Manduri on 18 September. For two days he inspected the security arrangements, runway, medical facilities and ATC tower at the airport. After this she returned on 20 September.
According to ADM Administration Rahul Vishwakarma, the technical team of DGCA checked the standards at Manduri Airport for two days. Along with the runway, security arrangements and medical facilities, the ATC tower was also inspected. After the team’s report, the Airport Authority of India can take a decision on permission for the flight.
With the opening of the airport in Azamgarh, the journey to Eastern UP will become easier from other cities. People of Azamgarh live largely in different cities of the country as well as in foreign countries. Most people work in Gulf countries. Presently to come to Azamgarh one has to land at Varanasi airport. After this, after covering a distance of about 100 kilometers by road, people reach Azamgarh.
