Anand Vihar Flyover: There will soon be relief from the traffic jam near Anand Vihar, one of the busiest areas of Delhi. PWD has built a 1.2 km long flyover here, which is expected to be opened in August. This will benefit 1.5 lakh people.
New Delhi. People of Delhi are going to get relief from traffic jams soon. The new 6 lane flyover is expected to start in August. This flyover of about 1.25 km will benefit more than 1.5 lakh people, who will get relief from traffic jams. Apart from this, 3 red lights will also be freed and people will cross the most jammed area of East Delhi without stopping. This flyover will benefit those who go to Delhi from Ghaziabad, Noida, Shahdara and Dilshad Garden.
The 1.2 km long Anand Vihar flyover between Viveka Vihar and Ramprastha has been awaited for a long time. Now it is expected to start in August. 95 percent of the work of the flyover has been completed and only 5 percent finishing work is left. After its completion, movement between East Delhi, East-North Delhi, New Delhi and Central Delhi will become easier. This flyover is being built on Road Number 56 of Delhi, the cost of which is Rs 372 crore.
1.5 lakh people will get relief from traffic jam
It is estimated that 1.48 lakh vehicles will pass through this flyover being built between Anand Vihar ISBT and Apsara Border every day. This will provide relief from the heavy traffic jam between Dilshad Garden and ISBT. This will save both fuel and time. This flyover was under construction for a long time.
4 routes will be signal free
This flyover is special in many ways. After its completion, 3 red lights will also end. People will get relief from the red lights in Ramprastha, Suryanagar and Shrestha Vihar. Apart from this, the route between Seemapuri and Anand Vihar will also become signal free. Drivers will be able to travel on this route without stopping.
Deadline changed 3 times
Building this flyover was not easy for the PWD. The deadline for completing the flyover had to be changed 3 times. Officials say that earlier its deadline was December, 2023 which was changed to April 2024. Now it has been changed once again to August, 2024 and it is estimated that this time this flyover will start.
