The construction of Ganga Expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj is progressing rapidly. The target is to start traffic here in December. This expressway will connect to Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Etawah. The government has given in-principle approval to the shortest route of 92 km.
Lucknow: The Ganga Expressway being built from Meerut to Prayagraj will connect to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Etawah. The route of the link expressway to be built to connect Agra-Lucknow to the Ganga Expressway has been finalized. This link expressway will start from Kudrail village in Etawah via Farrukhabad and end at Kausya village in Hardoi. Its length will be about 92 kilometers. After its construction, people coming from Meerut to Prayagraj as well as Lucknow and other districts of Purvanchal will be able to complete their journey in less time. UPDA had proposed three routes to the government for the link expressway. In this, the government has given in-principle approval to the shortest route of 92 kilometers. According to UPDA officials, bidding for the link expressway will start soon. The state government plans to start the Ganga Expressway being built from Meerut to Prayagraj before Kumbh.
Meerut to Prayagraj journey in just 6 hours
The Ganga Expressway to be built from Meerut to Prayagraj will start before Maha Kumbh 2025. According to UPDA officials, traffic will start on this expressway by December this year. With the construction of this expressway, the journey from Meerut to Prayagraj will be completed in just 6 hours. Till now this journey takes 10 to 12 hours. With the completion of this expressway, people coming to attend Kumbh from the capital Delhi and other parts of Uttar Pradesh will benefit. A total of 1481 structures i.e. small and big bridges and ROBs are to be built on the expressway. Out of this, the construction work of 1085 structures has been completed.
