New Highway: The distance from Bihar’s capital Patna to Mokama can now be covered by road in just 1 hour. Traffic on the Greenfield four-lane highway from Bakhtiyarpur to Mokama was started on Friday. This will make the journey between Bakhtiyarpur and Mokama complete in just half an hour, earlier it used to take two hours. However, a part of the railway overbridge near Bakhtiyarpur has not been built, due to which only two-lane traffic is running on about one kilometer of road.
A 44.6 km long Greenfield four lane corridor has been built between Bakhtiyarpur and Mokama. This has made the journey from Patna to Mokama easier. Apart from this, people will be able to travel to other districts including Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Munger, Bhagalpur, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Purnia, Khagaria as well as Guwahati in Assam and the neighboring country Bhutan.
Diversion has been made to go from Mokama to Patna
An official of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that people going from Patna to Mokama via Bakhtiyarpur are traveling directly. But a diversion has been made near the ROB for those going from Mokama to Patna via Bakhtiyarpur. After the completion of the ROB work, this road will be directly connected.
Right now, vehicles have been diverted by cutting the medium from where the connecting road of Bakhtiyarpur ROB starts. Vehicles are being diverted again from Mokama to Bakhtiyarpur by cutting the medium near the school one kilometer ahead. It is being told that after the construction work of ROB is completed in May, traffic will be started on the second lane at one kilometer.
It will be easy to reach Mokama from Patna via Bakhtiyarpur
Till now people used to go to Bakhtiyarpur from Patna via Greenfield Fourlane. After this, they were reaching Mokama from Bakhtiyarpur via flood through single lane road. Due to dense population on both sides of this road and less width of the road, it was taking two hours to go to Bakhtiyarpur and Mokama. Now as soon as the Greenfield Fourlane starts between Bakhtiyarpur and Mokama, this distance can be covered in just half an hour. At the same time, the distance between Patna and Mokama will also be reduced from two and a half to three hours to one hour.
