With the launch of the new e-filing portal, users had to face a lot of trouble. There was a lot of fun on this in social media too. On the matter, the Finance Minister has asked the co-founder of Infosys to rectify the loopholes.
The new income tax e-filing portal was launched by the Income Tax Department on Monday night. It has been started with the aim of simplifying the process of tax refund including filing of ITR, but on the very first day taxpayers faced a lot of difficulties. There was a lot of jokes about this on social media too. Therefore, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also tweeted on this matter. Not only this, he also sought an answer from Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani regarding this.
It is known that the responsibility of designing and maintaining the new e-filing portal has been given to IT company Infosys. In such a situation, the Finance Minister has asked Nilekani to look into this to plug the flaws in the website. do.”

The Finance Minister wrote in the tweet, “The much awaited e-filing portal 2.0 was launched last night at 20:45 pm. I found many complaints and errors in my TL. Hope the quality of service being provided by @Infosys and @NandanNilekani will not disappoint us and our taxpayers. Ease of compliance should be our priority.”
There was delay in launching
It was announced by the Income Tax Department that the new portal would be launched on the morning of 7th June, but it could not work due to some technical reasons. So the department launched it late at night. During this also people had to face problems. It is to be known that due to the introduction of the new portal, the Income Tax Department had kept the old portal closed till 1-6th.
