New ISBT at Delhi Airport: India’s first multi-modal interstate transport hub will soon be built at Delhi Airport. Delhi airport, operated by GMR Airport Infrastructure Limited, is planning to set up a first-of-its-kind multi-modal transport hub. Where bus, metro and air services will be available simultaneously. The proposed ISBT, to be developed in consultation with the Delhi Transport Department, will be capable of handling around 50 buses and will be developed in a phased manner. Delhi Airport operated by GMR will develop India’s first interstate multimodal transport hub near Aerocity.

Passengers will get many facilities

In the coming days, this hub will be well connected to the Interstate Bus Terminus (ISBT). Line 4 of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will include the proposed Passenger Transport Center (PTC) and the proposed Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) station. A station for Automatic Passenger Mover (APM) will be prepared near GMR Aerocity. This will make it much easier for people traveling by metro, bus and trains to reach the airport.

Most flights are available from Delhi

Delhi Airport is the airport of the national capital from where maximum number of international flights are received. Most people come here to catch flights from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At present there is no proper facility to park these interstate buses at Delhi Airport. After this proposal, the passengers coming here will get a lot of facilities.

No problem of changing metro again and again

The aim of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) is to provide easy facilities to the passengers coming here. Passengers coming here should not face any problem in switching buses, metro and flights. Time and again people face a lot of trouble with their luggage while changing metro buses. After this facility, passengers will be able to travel easily. You will get many types of facilities to travel from this place.

Modern facilities will be available at the airport

You will get many facilities at the airport. Which will have the best facilities like F&B outlets, EVs. Apart from this, there will be many shops along with charging, waiting area, business centre, internet/Wi-Fi services. People coming here from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan will be able to get easy transport facilities. They will easily be able to take bus or metro as per their convenience.

ISBT will be able to handle 50 buses

At present, passengers landing at Delhi airport have to go to Kashmere Gate to take a bus to Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan or go to Anand Vihar to catch a train. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) runs direct buses between Delhi Airport. In addition, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) connects to New Delhi Railways. Delhi Airport station is the fastest metro service in India through the Airport Express Line. The ISBT will be capable of handling around 50 buses and will be developed in a phased manner.
