New Metro Lines: Cabinet approves 2 new metro lines in Delhi; Know route and other details

Modi government has given a big gift to Delhi in probably the last cabinet meeting of its second term. Modi Cabinet has approved Phase-4. Under this, two new lines will be constructed in the capital.

Modi government has given a big gift to Delhi in probably the last cabinet meeting of its second term. Modi Cabinet has given green signal to two new corridors in Phase-4. Under this, two new metro lines will be constructed at a cost of Rs 8399 crore. Both new corridors will be constructed between Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block and Indralok to Indraprastha. The total length of both the lines is more than 20 kilometers.

Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, ‘The metro network has also been expanded and has become the largest network in the country’s capital. 945 km of metro kilometers are in existence in the country today and 919 km are under construction. I am happy to say that today two new corridors have been approved, on which Rs 8400 crore will be spent.

Under phase four, a new route of 8.385 kilometers will be built between Lajpat Nagar and Sakte G-Block. It will be completely elevated and a total of 8 stations will be built between the two destinations. This corridor will connect the Silver, Magenta, Pink and Violet lines.

Metro will run from Indralok to Indraprastha

Extending the Green Line, a metro line will be constructed between Indralok to Indraprastha. There will be a total of 10 stations on this route. A total of 11.349 kilometers of this route will be underground while 1.028 kilometers of the route will be elevated. With the construction of this route, there will be interchange facility between Red, Yellow, Airport Line, Magenta, Violet and Blue Lines. Connectivity to Bahadurgarh and Haryana will also increase.
