Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) board has approved the DPR of the proposed metro from Gurugram Sector-56 to Pachgaon. RITES has prepared a DPR worth Rs 8519 crore for the construction of this metro route.
New Metro Route: 28 stations will be constructed on this 36 km long metro route. All stations will be elevated. Along with this DPR, the HMRTC board has approved the Social Impact Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment, Alternative Analysis Report. Now this DPR will be sent to the Central Government through the State Government for approval.
Recently, a meeting of the HMRTC board was held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi. Senior IAS officers Anurag Rastogi, Arun Kumar Gupta, A. Srinivas, Dr. Chandrashekhar Khare, Amit Khatri, Sushil Sarwan, besides senior IPS Navdeep Singh Virk and financial director BB Gupta participated in it.
Where will the stations be built
Under this metro route, an interchange station will be built in Sector-56. This station will be built near the Sector-56 station of the Rapid Metro running from Cyber City to Sector-56. After this, a station will be built near the traffic signal of village Ghata on Golf Course Road. After this, metro stations will be built in Sector-61, Sector-62, Narwana Country, Sector-66. An interchange station will be built at Vatika Chowk, because in future there is a plan to run the metro from Bhondsi to Rajiv Chowk via Vatika Chowk. After Vatika Chowk, this metro will go to SPR, under which stations will be built in Sector-69, 70, 75. After this, a station will be built near the toll plaza in village Kherki Daula. An interchange station will be built at Kherki Daula. Namo Bharat Train will run on Delhi-Jaipur Highway, whose station is to be built in Kherki Daula. After this, stations of this metro will be built in Sector-36A, Global City, Sector-88, Sector-84, Sector-85 and 89, Sector-86 and 90, Sector-91, Village Kankarola, Sector-M-15, Sector-M-14, M-9, M-8, Manesar (HORC), Sector-P-4, P-5, P-7 and Pachgaon.
The state government will bear the expenses
According to sources, the entire cost of operation of the proposed metro from Sector-56 to Pachgaon will be borne by the state government. The help of the central government will not be taken in this. The Chief Secretary has issued orders to the board officials to prepare a plan from where the funds should be collected for the metro operation. This plan will be presented by the officials in the next meeting of the HMRTC board.
Status of the proposed metro in Old Gurugram
A design consultant has been appointed for the metro operation in Old Gurugram. Tenders were invited for the appointment of the general consultant, in which eight companies have participated. The general consultant company will be selected by the end of February. After the appointment of the general consultant, the process of inviting tenders for the metro operation in Old Gurugram will be started. The operation of this metro route will cost Rs 5452 crore. 27 stations are to be constructed under this metro route which is about 28.5 km long.
