A detailed project report will soon be prepared for the new route of Greater Noida West Metro. On the instructions of PMO, NMRC has started the exercise. Preparations are being made to remove the Greater Noida West Metro from the common platform at Sector 61 metro station of the Blue Line.
Noida: Work is now progressing on the new route of Greater Noida West Metro of Uttar Pradesh. Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has intensified efforts to change the route of the proposed metro for Greater Noida West. Preparations are on to open the new route at Sector-61 station of Blue Line Metro by giving a common platform to both the lines. Noida Metro Rail Corporation will start the work of making a fresh DPR for this from next month. Now Greater Noida West Metro Corridor will be constructed from Sector 61 itself. After this new instruction received from PMO, NMRC has now started the process.
Dr. Lokesh M, MD of Noida Metro Rail Corporation, had given a presentation regarding Greater Noida West Corridor in the PMO in the first week of this month. He had updated about the options for construction of this corridor ranging from construction of skywalk. Information was given about the extension of metro line from Sector-51 of Aqua Line to Knowledge Park-5. Also, regarding the Greater Noida West Metro Corridor, Delhi Metro had given a presentation to the PMO regarding the option of preparing a common platform by connecting the Sector-61 metro station.
After listening to all the options, the PMO gave instructions to work on the expansion of the Aqua Line by using the Sector-61 metro station as a common platform. Following instructions received from the PMO, NMRC has sought approval to start the DPR work afresh after giving this information to the UP government. NMRC MD Dr Lokesh M said that the DPR work for Greater Noida West Metro Corridor will start as soon as the approval is received from the state government.
