New Delhi: If you travel in Delhi Metro, then there is good news for you. Actually, the first station of the Phase-4 corridor of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) can open in July or August. Which will depend on getting approval from the Metro Railway Safety Commissioner. Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communication, DMRC, said that the work of Krishna Park Extension station on the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg Metro Corridor is about to be completed. This corridor is an extension of the Magenta Line. A section from Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension of the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg Metro Corridor is likely to be opened to the public by July/August 2024 after getting the necessary approval from the Metro Railway Safety Commissioner. This approximately 2.5 km long section is underground, which includes an underground station – Krishna Park Extension station, and it will be an extension of the Magenta Line (Line 8-Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden).

This corridor will be completed by the year 2026

Krishna Park Extension is the only station on this 2.5 km underground section. However, the construction work on the entire Janakpuri West to RK Ashram stretch is likely to be completed by 2026. There are a total of 22 stations in this corridor, including eight interchange stations – Janakpuri West, Peeragarhi, Pitampura, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Majlis Park, Azadpur, Pulbangash and RK Ashram Marg. Azadpur is going to become the second triple interchange station once the RK Ashram-Janakpuri West corridor becomes operational. The Azadpur metro station is currently an interchange facility where the yellow and pink lines (Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar) cross each other. Once the 29.3 km long Janakpuri West-RK Ashram corridor becomes operational, it will connect to the existing 37.5 km long Janakpuri West via Botanical Garden.

DMRC is currently constructing 65 km stretch from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram, Majlis Park to Maujpur and Airport to Tughlakabad. The 12.3 km corridor from Majlis Park to Maujpur (Pink Line) is expected to be completed by 2025, while the Airport to Tughlakabad (Golden Line) may be completed by 2026. In March, the Union Cabinet approved two more corridors under Phase-4 – Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block and Indralok to Indraprastha, which are extensions of the Golden and Green lines. The construction of Krishna Park Extension station on the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg Metro corridor on the Phase-4 corridor of Delhi Metro is about to be completed. This station will be opened to the general public by July or August. Let us tell you that this 2.5 km underground section is part of the Magenta Line Extension. There will be 22 stations on this corridor, which will be operated by DMRC.
