Under the new policy of the government, people will get annual toll pass for Rs 3000. If you recharge Fastag once for Rs 3000, then you will be exempted from toll for the whole year. However, no official announcement has been made regarding this. If media reports are to be believed, the government can also consider a lifetime toll plaza pass with a new car. For Rs. 30,000, you can travel freely at any toll plaza for 15 years. However, there is no consensus on the lifetime pass. That is, if everything goes according to plan, then in a few days you will be able to travel across the country without stopping at toll plazas. Annual Fastag pass will save both money and time.
New toll policy
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said during an event held on Monday, 14 April 2025 that a new toll policy will soon be implemented in the country. Physical toll booths will be removed soon. After the implementation of the new system, there will be no need to stop at the toll plaza for toll tax. Toll will be deducted automatically through satellite tracking. Vehicle number plates will be identified through satellite and toll will be deducted automatically. This new system will eliminate the need for manual toll collection.
