Dubai Police has once again issued a warning against those accused of violating traffic rules on the road, informing that drivers crossing red lights and driving recklessly will be given strict punishment. Dubai Police has said that drivers should not cross red lights at any cost.

If a driver crosses a red light, he will be fined Dh50,000. Apart from this, his vehicle can also be confiscated for 30 days. 23 black points will also be given on the driver’s license.

Careless driving can prove dangerous

It has been informed that careless driving can prove dangerous. Police have also shared a video related to this, in which it can be clearly seen how dangerous driving carelessly can prove to be. It has been advised that while driving on the road, take care of the people walking along with you. In case of violation of rules, fine can be imposed or the vehicle can also be confiscated. At the same time, the accused can be sentenced to jail for serious traffic violations.

New Dubai traffic law

1. Riding recreational motorcycles on paved roads.

Recreational vehicles like quad bikes and dirt bikes are used off road, for recreational purposes, and driving one on a paved road will lead to its impoundment. According to Decree No. 30 of 2023, to release the vehicle a fine of Dh50,000 needs to be paid.

2. Driving a vehicle recklessly or in a manner that poses a threat to life, property, or traffic safety in the emirate. – Will be fined Dh50,000

3. Jumping a red light – Will be fined Dh50,000

4. Driving a vehicle with a fake, forged or obscured number plate, or using it in a manner inconsistent with the legislation in force in the emirate. – Will be fined Dh50,000

5. Intentionally hitting a police vehicle or willfully causing damage to it. – Will be fined Dh50,000

6. Driving a vehicle by a person under the age of 18 years. – Will be fined Dh50,000
