Prime Minister Modi will flag off the Vande Bharat train running between Chennai to Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. According to media reports, the train will be inaugurated on August 8, 2023.

Significantly, a total of two Vande Bharat trains are already running in Tamil Nadu. These trains are Chennai Mysore Vande Bharat Express and Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express. The Chennai Mysore Vande Bharat train was flagged off on November 22, 2022. On the other hand, the Chennai-Coimbatore Express was flagged off on 8 April.

What is the Timing of Tirunelveli Vande Bharat from Chennai?

Chennai to Tirunelveli Vande Bharat Express is an 8 coach train, which will leave Tirunelveli in the morning and reach Chennai by afternoon. This train will travel a total distance of 650 kms. Meanwhile, this train will stop at the stations of Virudhunagar, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli. According to the report published in Indian Express, railway officials say that after the introduction of this train, the journey between Chennai to Tirunelveli will be easier for the passengers. Along with this, there will also be a reduction in the heavy rush of passengers between the two stations at night. It is worth noting that there is a high demand for tickets on the Chennai-Tirunelveli route in the upcoming festive season. In such a situation, it will be easy for passengers to get tickets through this train.

There will be reduction in travel time

At present two trains are running between Chennai Tirunelveli route. Nellai Express takes approximately 10.40 hours to complete this journey. Kanyakumari Nagercoil Express takes 11 hours to complete this journey. On the other hand, Vande Bharat running between Chennai Tirunelveli will complete the 650 kilometer journey in just 8 hours. Please tell that Vande Bharat train is a semi high speed train made of 100 percent Indian technology, so it can run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
