Southern Railways on Tuesday (November 21, 2023) ran a special Vande Bharat Express train from Chennai city of Tamil Nadu to Bengaluru city of Karnataka. This semi high speed train has eight coaches, while it left Chennai at 11 pm and reached Bengaluru at around 4:30 am.
According to the fixed schedule, this train will travel between the two cities in about five and a half hours. The train will depart from Chennai Central station and reach Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal in the Karnataka capital on Wednesday morning.
Media reports quoting railway officials said that Vande Bharat special train for passengers has been scheduled between the two metros during night time. However, considering the ridership, the authorities may decide to run more special overnight trains in the upcoming holiday season.

According to reports, the price of an economy class ticket on the Chennai-Mysuru route is Rs 921 and an executive class ticket is Rs 1880.
