New Visa: Australia will give 1000 working-holiday visas to Indians every year, 40 thousand Indians applied

Australia’s Assistant Immigration Minister Matt Thistlethwaite said on Monday that the application process for this visa started on October 1 and will close by the end of the month. Under this, Indians aged 18 to 30 years will be allowed to live, work and study in Australia for one year.

Australia started a new Working Holiday Maker Visa Program two weeks ago as part of an agreement with India. Under this, every year 1000 Indian youth will be given working and holiday visas to study, work or travel in Australia. But in just two weeks, more than 40,000 Indians have applied for it.

Australia’s Assistant Immigration Minister Matt Thistlethwaite said on Monday that the application process for this visa started on October 1 and will close by the end of the month. Under this, Indians aged 18 to 30 will be allowed to live, work and study in Australia for one year. Thistlethwaite said that the Australian Working Holiday Maker Program will prove to be very important in strengthening the relations between the two countries.

He said that the successful candidates among the applicants will be selected on a random basis and the selected people can start their stay in Australia early next year. Thistlethwaite said that this program will run every year. It will give young Indians an opportunity to learn about Australian culture and gain experience of working in different fields. They will also have the option to take short courses or improve their English skills.
