UK Visa : According to the new visa rules, Indians and foreigners working as care workers will not be able to take their families to Britain.

UK Visa New Rules Effective: There is a ban on bringing dependent family members to Britain under the new visa law effective from this week. According to the new visa rules, Indians and foreigners working as care workers will no longer be able to bring their families here.

The Home Ministry had already announced this law, which became effective from Monday. According to last year’s figures, one lakh workers in Britain worked on care visas along with 1,20,000 dependent members. It has been claimed that this move will drastically reduce the number of migrants coming to Britain and will also tackle visa abuse.

The country’s Home Minister James Cleverley said, care workers make an important contribution to our society by looking after our loved ones in times of need. But we cannot sit idly by when it comes to tackling the blatant abuses of visa rules, the manipulation of our immigration system and the abnormal increase in the number of migrants. It is neither right nor fair to allow this situation to continue.

He said, we had promised the British people to take action. We will not rest until we fulfill our commitment to significantly reduce the numbers. Our plan is fair and strong to protect British workers. He said that the world’s talents can work and study here to add values to our society and develop the economy.

These changes in visa rules have come into effect. The government is preparing to table new rules in Parliament on Thursday. Care workers acting as sponsors for migrants will now be required to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The government says it will also crack down on exploitation and abuse of workers within the care sector.
