These jawans are more vulnerable to being crippled, as they work in difficult conditions and the nature of their work is also full of stress. He said that the aim of such steps is to make the life of government employees go smoothly, even when they become pensioners and become elderly. The government is trying its best to make such rules easier to abolish such biased clauses.
Will continue to get ‘Disability benefits’
After this new order, an irregularity in service rules will be removed. According to the rules of ‘Disability benefits’ earlier available under Central Civil Services (CCS), those employees who started jobs under the National Pension System (NPS) on or after January 1, 2004. Now according to the new order of Department of Pensions in the Ministry of Personnel, any employee who is covered under NPS will also be entitled to Extraordinary Pension (EOP) under Rule (9).
Dearness allowance will be available in the new year!
Another good news for central employees and pensioners is that in the new year 2021, they are expected to get dearness allowance. According to the news, four percent increase in dearness allowance is expected in January 2021. This will benefit about 1.5 crore central employees and pensioners across the country. Right from July 2020, 7% dearness allowance is payable, but it is not being paid yet.
Dearness allowance is fixed twice a year
Let us tell you that every month the Union Ministry of Labor releases an index on the average of inflation. On the basis of this, dearness allowance is fixed for employees and pensioners twice a year in January and July. This allowance has been fixed on the basis of consumer price index for industrial workers of the last 12 months. Based on this, it is calculated on the average of the last 12 months.
The government changed the base year in October
Central employees are expected to get a thick dearness allowance this year. Because the government has changed the base year. This will directly benefit 48 lakh central employees.
