Next DA Hike : 4% increase in DA is possible again, other allowances will also increase, know when will you get the benefit – how much will the salary increase?

Central Employee Next DA Hike: There is good news for central employees and pensioners. The Labor Ministry has released the AICPI index data for April, this time again the numbers have increased, the index has increased to 134.2, so in July 2023, a 4% increase in dearness allowance is expected. After this the dearness allowance will increase from 42% to 46%. Although the official confirmation is yet to be done. If the central government approves this, then 48 lakh employees and 69 lakh pensioners will get its benefit.

A look at the April AICPI index data

In fact, the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers is compiled every month by the Labor Bureau, an office related to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets of 88 important industrial centers spread across the country. The index is compiled for 88 industrial centers and for All India and is released on the last working day of the following month.

The All-India CPI-IW for April 2023 increased by 0.9 points to stand at 134.2. On the 1-month percentage change in the index, it registered an increase of 0.68% with respect to the previous month as against an increase of 1.35% registered between the same month a year ago.

4% DA increase fixed

According to media reports, currently central employees are getting the benefit of 42 per cent DA, which is applicable from January to June 2023. Since DA increases twice a year, the next increase is due in July. The 4 percent increase in DA is believed to be fixed from the figures of AICPI index that have come so far, although the figures for May and June are yet to come, after which it will be final that by what percentage DA will increase in July.

If the 4% DA is ratified, it will increase to 46 per cent. The new rates will be applicable from 1 July 2023. With this, an employee with a salary of Rs 18000 will get Rs 8640 and an employee with a salary of Rs 56000 will get an annual benefit of Rs 27312. Similarly, there will be different increase in the salary of different level employees.

New rates may be announced in August-September

According to media reports, DA has crossed 45% to reach 45.04% on the basis of AICPI index of April, although the numbers of AICPI index of May and June are yet to come. With DA crossing 45%, it has become clear that this time also this DA will increase by 4% to 46%. Earlier, on the basis of March figures, the DA score was at 44.46 percent.

There is a possibility that the new rates of DA may be announced between Raksha Bandhan to Diwali, because after that the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections will start. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet that how much DA will increase and when it will be announced.
