Warned about fake notice

has issued a notification addressing the spread of fake news regarding the establishment of new medical colleges and allotment of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) seats on various medical courses for the academic year 2024-25. The Commission clarified that the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has not approved any new medical colleges or increased UG/PG seats for the above academic year.

Students should not get trapped in fake news.

The notice stressed that authentic information is completely available on the NMC website and applications for the academic year are still under review. The NMC stressed that recent news reports contain misleading headlines or unverified content.

NMC called the news baseless

An official notification issued by the NMC said, “Recently it has been observed that there are some fake news in the print/electronic media regarding the establishment of new medical colleges and grant of UG/PG seats in various medical courses. This It is further observed that either the ‘headline’ of such news is misleading or the ‘content’ present in them is baseless.
