The wife of the Assistant Commissioner of GST posted in Delhi consumed poisonous substance in a flat in Noida on Wednesday afternoon. He was admitted to Prayag Hospital in critical condition, where he died on Thursday morning.
According to the police, the family members alleged that the woman consumed poison after being angry with dowry torture. Noida police have detained the woman’s husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law and are investigating the case.
Noida Zone ADCP Ranvijay Singh said that Aman Singla, a resident of Supreme Tower, Sector-99, is an Assistant Commissioner in the GST Customs and Narcotics Department in Delhi. He is originally from Patiala.
Aman was married to Hina Singla, a resident of Sangrur Punjab in October. Hina is a CA and was studying in LLB final year. Aunty alleges that Aman, her mother and father used to harass Hina for dowry after marriage. Due to this, there was a situation of discord in the house.
Hina’s aunt came to Noida from Chandigarh a few days ago for the same agreement. On Wednesday, in the flat at the Supreme Tower, aunt was trying to negotiate an agreement between the two sides, when Aman misbehaved with his wife.
Angered by this, Hina ate a poisonous substance. After this his condition started deteriorating and he was admitted to Prayag Hospital, where he died this morning. Police have detained Aman Singla and her parents after the incident.
