Now avail the benefits till 31 March, these two big banks increased the debt of this scheme

If you have a senior citizen in your home, then you can now take advantage of the special FD scheme of these two big banks of the country by 31 March 2021. Actually, almost all big banks are running Senior Citizens Special FD Scheme for senior citizens.




According to the banks, under this scheme, the elderly get 1% more interest on fixed deposits (FD) than ordinary customers. Meanwhile, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have extended this scheme till 31 March 2021.

In fact, due to the corona virus, banks have scissored at FD interest rates. After which the banks launched the Senior Citizens Special FD Scheme for senior citizens in May 2020 amid the Corona crisis. Previously, the last date for this scheme was fixed December 31, 2020, which has now been extended by HDFC and ICICI Bank till March 31.

HDFC Bank, the country’s largest private bank, is paying 75 basis points more interest on FD under its HDFC Senior Citizen Care. At present, 6.25 percent interest is being received on FD under this scheme.

4.9 per cent interest on fixed deposits ranging from one year to 2 years and 5.15 per cent on FDs of two years to 3 years, 5.30 per cent on term deposits of 3 years to 5 years and FDs maturing between 5 years and 10 years Now you will get 5.50 percent interest. Senior citizens will get 75 basis points more interest on all these fixed deposits.




At the same time, ICICI Bank has ICICI Bank Golden Years Scheme for Senior Citizens, under which the elderly who get FD get 80 basis points more interest from the common customers. Under this scheme, senior citizens are getting interest up to 6.30 percent on FD. For one year, FD gets 4.9 percent interest. Under this scheme, common people are getting 5.50 percent interest on FD for 3 to 10 years. Senior citizens get 80 basis points more interest on all these FDs.
