The Supreme Court has reduced the minimum marks for admission to BDS for 2020-21 through NEET.
Millions of students participate in NEET exam every year to become doctors. On the basis of merit in NEET examination, candidates get admission in MBBS and BDS course. Even after hard work, the neet of many students is not clear, due to which they do not get admission. But now Neet Fell will also get admission. Yes, the Supreme Court has given a decision that after this, even the failed students of NEET examination in 2020 will be able to take admission in BDS i.e. Bachelors of Dental Surgery. The Supreme Court has taken this decision keeping in mind the vacant seats. The Supreme Court has reduced the minimum marks for admission to BDS for 2020-21.
The SC, in its decision, rejected the decision of the central government which said that the percentage will not be reduced to fill the vacant BDS course seat. Supreme Court Justice L. The bench headed by Nageswara Rao has said in its decision that the court was told that for the year 2020-21, 7000 seats are available for admission in the BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) course. We do not agree with the Additional Solicitor General’s plea that there are plentiful dentists across the country and even if the seats remain vacant, there will be no loss.

The court said that we reject the central government’s decision of 30 December 2020 in which it refused to reduce the minimum number and the court said that it is illegal. The Supreme Court said that we issue instructions that the vacant seats of BDS should be filled with students sitting on the Neat paper and for this the percentage will be reduced by 10 percent. The court also said that general category students with minimum 40% percentile and reservation category students with 30% percentile will also be eligible and can be considered.
