Aadhaar Card For NRI: Aadhaar card is a very important document for every citizen in India. It is needed for every small and big work, from opening a bank account to buying a SIM card. Even children need Aadhaar card for many tasks. But if you are a Non Resident Indian i.e. NRI and want to get an Aadhaar card, then has any such arrangement been made for you by the Government of India?
The answer is yes. UIDAI has also allowed NRIs to get Aadhaar card. Any NRI can apply for Aadhaar card from Aadhaar Seva Kendra in any city in India, but for this they have to follow some rules and conditions.
How to apply
- Go to the nearest Aadhaar centre to apply for Aadhaar card.
- Carry your passport with you. This is an important document for NRIs.
- Fill in the details in the enrolment form. For NRIs, your email ID is very important, enter it.
- Registration for NRIs is a little different, so read the enrolment form carefully and sign the form.
- Provide ID proof and complete the biometric process.
- After completing the enrolment process, the operator will return all the documents with an Acknowledgement Slip, which will contain the applicable charges.
- Save the receipt or slip containing the 14 digit enrolment ID, date and time stamp.
