Old Pension Scheme: 2700 employees of various departments are going to get the benefit of old pension soon. Their documents are being examined in the Pension Directorate. 6200 employees and officers are coming under this ambit across the state. The Central Government had removed the old pension scheme of the employees recruited after January 2005.
The system was implemented in Uttarakhand from October 2005. Various employee organizations are opposing the new pension scheme. He says that after retirement, the pension amount of the employees under the new scheme is so much that it is difficult to meet the household expenses.
Due to this, various employee organizations are opposing the new pension scheme. Recently, the government also decided to extend this benefit to such employees and officers whose release had been issued before October 2005 and appointments were made later. 6200 employees from across the state can come under this scope.
Till now, many administrative departments including Secretariat Administration, Education, Health, Youth Welfare have identified such employees and sent the proposal to the Pension Directorate. Director Treasury DC Lohani said that about 2700 cases are currently under investigation.
Soon these proposals will be returned to the administrative departments, so that they can get the benefits of old pension. At the same time, a proposal has been sent to give the benefit of old pension to the additional private cadre. On the other hand, gazetted rank officers are to get this benefit.
Their proposals are still pending in the secretariat in the sections of many departments, whereas four IAS officers had been given this benefit.
Relaxation in promotion should be extended by six months
Uttaranchal Hill Employees Teachers Organization has demanded to extend the relaxation in promotion for six months. Along with this, the organization has requested for amendment in the Act to remove the anomalies in the Transfer Act. A meeting of Uttaranchal Hill Employees Teachers Organization was held at the Directorate General of Health on Saturday.
During this, the officials of the organization expressed the need to extend the relaxation given by the state government in the promotion standards to the employees by six months. State General Secretary of the organization Ashok Raj Uniyal said that the relaxation given by the government is ending during the Lok Sabha election code of conduct.
