One Mumbai Metro Card launched, passengers will get these facilities for the first time

MasterCard, Mumbai Metro and Axis Bank have launched ‘One Mumbai Metro Card’ to provide convenience to Mumbai Metro commuters. This card has been announced on Thursday. Its purpose is to ensure cashless and contactless travel for the passengers traveling by metro. It is a pre-paid, contactless card that can be used for everyday travel with just a tap.

With this new solution, MasterCard has announced that it will continue to transform the lives of everyday commuters in India through a completely digital medium. This card can be used for the purchase of food items as well as for the purchase of daily items, medicines and tickets. It has been said on behalf of Mastercard that with this new step, they want to help the government in transportation digitization. Along with this, it also has to contribute in building a digital economy with the highest level of security in the country.

Contactless and One Tap

One Mumbai Metro Card has many such features that make it unique such as contactless, easy to use and top up, convenience in metro tickets as well as being used for other daily items purchases. This card is said to be completely secure and hassle-free. Passengers will no longer need to stand in line for tickets. It can be easily used for daily payments in times of social distancing and without any hassle. Passengers can take this card from metro station counters in Mumbai.

He said that Axis Bank has always played a big role in digitizing the economy. He hoped that the One Mumbai Metro Card will encourage commuters to adopt digital payments as India is rapidly moving towards a cashless economy. Mumbai Metro One CEO Col (Retd) Shubhodaya Mukherjee said that the launch of One Mumbai Metro Card for Mumbaikars is indeed a matter of great pleasure. He hoped that this card will be used by all the passengers.
