Former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has made a big allegation on the government regarding GST. He said that till now the GST dues of all the states have not been given. Whereas Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is claiming that the payment has been made.

Rajya Sabha MP P. Chidambaram wrote on social media that the government has not yet paid the GST dues of Congress-ruled states. He said that only Punjab’s GST arrears till June 1 is Rs 7393 crore.

Similarly, the GST dues for Chhattisgarh is Rs 3069 crore and for Rajasthan is Rs 7142 crore. Yet the Finance Minister is claiming that she has paid the GST dues to all the states.

According to the Finance Ministry, for 8 consecutive months, the total GST collection is crossing Rs 1 lakh crore. This May GST collection stood at Rs 1.02 lakh crore. Earlier in April, the total GST collection stood at Rs 1.41 lakh crore, which is the highest ever.
