Pan Aadhaar Link: How to link pan with aadhaar through new income tax e filing portal

PAN Linking with Aadhaar: By following just a few steps, you can easily link your PAN and Aadhaar card through the new e-portal of Income Tax. This linking service is available on the home page of the Income Tax e-filing portal.




New Delhi: Aadhaar and PAN card are two important government documents in the country and according to government rules, it is mandatory to link them among themselves. To take advantage of many important services, the condition of linking these two documents is kept, this leads to your verification. Now the Income Tax Department has made it even easier for its taxpayers to link their PAN card with Aadhaar. By following just a few steps, you can easily link your PAN and Aadhar card through the new Income Tax portal (Income Tax 2.0). This linking service is available on the home page of the Income Tax e-filing portal.

Let us inform that the government has extended the last date for linking PAN card and Aadhar card. If you do not link them, your PAN card will become invalid after the last date.

How to link Aadhaar and PAN card through e-filing portal

  • First of all login to the new e-filing portal 2.0.
  • On the homepage, scroll down and go to the ‘Our Services’ tab.
  • After this, click on the option of ‘Link Aadhaar’.
  • After clicking on the link Aadhaar, a new window will open in front of you.
  • Now on this new window, you will have to enter your PAN, Aadhar number, name as per your Aadhar card and your mobile number.
  • Once you have entered the details and the verification is done, click on ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details’.
  • In the next step, if only year of birth is written without date and month in ‘Aadhaar card’, then tick the check box with ‘I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card’. Now click on ‘Continue’.
  • Now to proceed to the next step, you will get a 6 digit OTP on your registered mobile number. This OTP will be valid for 15 minutes only. Now you have to enter this OTP on your verification page. Once you have entered the OTP, click on ‘Validate’ option.
  • On entering the OTP, a pop-up will appear on your screen informing you about your PAN and Aadhaar link submission.
  • In this way, in just a few easy steps, you will be able to link your PAN card with Aadhar card.
