PAN Card: Get PAN Card made at home for free in just 5 minutes, know how

This is e-PAN card, the process of which is quite fast. What needs to be done to get PAN card online?

There is no need to do anything special to get a PAN card made at home. With its help, you will not need to go anywhere and you will not have to pay any kind of fee. This PAN card or PAN number comes to your e-mail ID.

Does online PAN number work?

When you apply online, you are given a PAN number. Which you can use anywhere. However, it is not a physical copy. To apply for e-PAN card, you also need Aadhaar number. Let us tell you that e-PAN is issued to a user only once.

How to apply for PAN card for free?

Step 1: Visit the e-filing portal homepage and click on “Instant e-PAN” in the Quick Links section

Step 2: On the e-PAN page, click on “Get New e-PAN”

Step 3: On the Get New e-PAN page, enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number, select I confirm that checkbox and click “Continue”

Step 4: On the OTP validation page, click on “I have read the consent terms and agree to proceed further” and click on “Continue”

Step 5: You will receive a 6 digit OTP received on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
Enter, select the checkbox to validate Aadhaar details with UIDAI and click on “Continue”

Step 6: On the Validate Aadhaar Details page, select the I Accept that checkbox and click “Continue”

Step 7: After doing everything correctly, the Acknowledgment Number will appear on the screen. You are advised to note down the Acknowledgment ID for further reference. You will also receive a confirmation message on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.

Apply PAN through NSDL (Protean) Portal

The government has made a provision for applicants to apply for PAN through the Income Tax PAN Services Unit of NSDL. Follow these easy steps to apply for PAN Card Online:

Step 1: Visit NSDL website https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html to apply for new PAN

Step 2: Select the application type – New PAN for Indian citizens, Foreign citizens or Change/Update in existing PAN data

Step 3: Select your category – Individual, Trust, Institution, Firm etc.

Step 4: Fill all the required information in the PAN form like name, date of birth, email ID and your mobile number.

Step 5: Once you submit the form, you will get a message asking you to proceed further

Step 6: Click on “Continue with the PAN Application Form” button

Step 7: You will be taken to a new page where you will have to submit your digital e-KYC

Step 8: Now choose whether you want a physical PAN card or not and enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number.

Step 9: Now enter your personal information in the next part of the form

Step 10: In the next section of the form, enter your contact and other information

Step 11: Enter your area code, AO type and other information in this part of the form.

Step 12: The last part of the form is Document Submission and Declaration

Step 13: Submit PAN card application. You need to check your complete form to make corrections, if any. If you do not want to make any changes, click on “Proceed” button.

Step 14: You will be redirected to the “payment” section where you have to make the payment either through demand draft or through net banking/debit/credit card

Step 15: Once payment is made, payment slip will be generated, now click on Continue

Step 16: Now for Aadhaar authentication, tick the declaration and click on “Authenticate” option

Step 17: Click on “Continue with e-KYC” and OTP will be sent to your mobile number linked to Aadhaar

Step 18: Enter OTP and submit the form

Step 19: Click on “Continue with e-Sign”, and enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar

Step 20: Enter OTP and get the acknowledgment slip by submitting the application. The acknowledgment slip will be in PDF whose password will be your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format.
