New Delhi. The last deadline to link PAN card with Aadhaar is also over. The government had extended it several times before, but this time the date has not been extended. According to the Income Tax Department, the PAN cards which have not yet been linked with Aadhaar have been deactivated from July 1. If your PAN card has also become inactive in the same way, then there is nothing to panic. Because you still have the option to activate it again.

How to check PAN is active or not?
If you do not know whether your PAN card is active or inactive, then you can easily check it online sitting at home. To check this, first go to the income tax filing portal incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/. Here in the Quick Links section, click on the option of “Verify Your PAN” service. Now enter your PAN number, name and date of birth along with mobile number on the “Verify Your PAN” page. After that click on “Continue” and enter OTP. As soon as the verification is successful, you will see the status of PAN on your screen.
How to reactivate PAN?
If your PAN has become inactive, then to activate it again, you have to go to the same portal incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/. Here go to ‘e-Pay Tax’ and enter your PAN details. After this go to CHALLAN NO./ITNS 280 and pay the fees. After this, select the assessment year and enter the address. Then fill the captcha code and click on the Proceed tab. Your PAN will become active again after 30 days of completing this process.
