Panchayat elections: After the delimitation figures for the UP Panchayat elections came out, now political parties, contenders preparing to contest elections and their supporters are eagerly awaiting the policy of reservation of seats in Gram Panchayat, Kshetra Panchayat and Jilla Panchayat.

Following the recommendation of Panchayati Raj Minister Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, a mandate in this regard is to be issued by the Panchayati Raj Department. Departmental Ministers have already indicated that this time, reservation of seats in the area and Zilla Panchayat can be decided afresh by making zero reservation. In this order, it is being said that in the gram panchayats affected by delimitation, reservation of rotation should be done afresh.

He argues that since the last five elections, reservation has been going on in the region and district panchayat elections. Therefore, there is a need to set reservation afresh. Let us tell that in the election of 2015, the then SP government had fixed the reservation of seats of gram panchayats afresh by rotation, now the reservation of seats of gram panchayats has to be fixed in the next order of the cycle. As far as the reservation decided in the 2015 panchayat elections is concerned, its details can be known from the following table.
