New Passport Service: Passport applicants will be able to apply through mobile vans in these 13 districts

People of Haryana earlier had to go to Chandigarh and Ambala to get passport made. But now in view of people’s desire to go abroad, the Ministry of External Affairs has made the facility of making passport available in the districts. Due to which both time and money are being saved.

There is relief news for people who want to go abroad. In view of the continuous increase in the number of applicants and people waiting for passports, the Ministry of External Affairs has increased the scope of work in many Passport Seva Kendras. Slot booking availability for file submission for normal and tatkal passports has now been increased to 1000 at Passport Seva Kendras in Bhiwani, Sirsa, Hisar, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat and Chandigarh. At the same time, due to delay in making passport despite online application and long distance to the office, people of Charkhi Dadri and Fatehabad districts have also raised the demand of opening Passport Seva Kendra at the district headquarters.

Number of passports made increased

According to the report of the Passport Seva Kendra of the Ministry of External Affairs, about 2000 passports were made daily in Bhiwani, Sirsa, Hisar, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat and Chandigarh in July 2023, whereas now its number has increased to about 3000. Still, the call date for passport in Hisar, Sirsa, Panipat, Kaithal and Karnal is in the month of January 2024.

Therefore many people had to move to Chandigarh and Ambala. Since there are four Passport Seva Kendras in Chandigarh, this service is available relatively quickly. In Sirsa, Bhiwani, Yamunanagar, the date of police clearance certificate is also being given after one month, whereas in Chandigarh, Ambala, this certificate is being given relatively soon by the police.

Postal Superintendent Sanjay Verma said that earlier permission was given to make 60 passports daily at Bhiwani Postal Headquarters, but now it has been increased to 110 passports daily. Every day around 100 passport cases are coming before us. The passport process is online and the passport is prepared and reaches home in about 15 days. Three employees have been deployed in the passport branch at the headquarters.

According to the official

The number of people in the district getting passport made is continuously increasing. Now, after two months, people’s files are being deposited in the Passport Seva Kendra. Earlier, 50 people were called every day to get passports made and now the number has been increased to 90. Out of which 80 people are called for passport while 10 people are called for PCC. -Amardeep, Incharge, Passport Seva Kendra, Sirsa

According to social worker

Many youth of Fatehabad are preparing for IELTS etc., they have to put in a lot of effort to get their passport made. One has to make rounds of Chandigarh and Sirsa. In Sirsa the number is received very late. If a passport office is built in Fatehabad then the youth will not have to worry. -Vinod Arora, social worker, Fatehabad.

According to the lawyer

I had to go to Australia and applied for passports for me and my wife. I had to wait a long time for the passport number and after about six months my passport was made in Chandigarh. If this facility is available in Fatehabad then people will benefit a lot. – Advocate Ajay Beniwal, Fatehabad.

When I contacted Bhiwani as there was no passport center in Dadri, I could not get the date. After waiting a long time, I had to go to Ambala on 14th October. On the lines of other districts, there should be a passport center at Charkhi Dadri headquarters also, this will save people’s time and hustle and bustle. -Gurmukh Nargis, Vishwakarma Colony, Charkhi Dadri
