Now the shopkeepers will not need a PoS machine to take payment from the card, they can take payment using their phone with ‘Paytm Smart PoS’ service.
Financial service platform PayTm on Tuesday launched two new Internet of Things (IoT) based payment devices for merchants, allowing merchants to take payments from the card through their Android phones. This smart PoS app of Paytm allows the smartphone to accept payments from debit and credit cards like a POS machine. With this smart PoS, shoppers will be able to easily accept contactless card payments. This payment will be through Near Field Communication (NFC).
In order to provide this service, Paytm has partnered with financial service institutions like Visa and MasterCard so that card payment can be made easily with Smart PoS. To take advantage of this service, businessmen have to signup in Paytm for Business App. After this, they have to download ‘Paytm Smart PoS’ on their Android smartphone.

After doing this, they can easily accept the payment by putting the customer’s card on the back of the smartphone. Along with the payment made through the QR Code, the card payment will also be easily transferred to the account of the businessmen. The company has said that the Paytm for Business app is being used by more than 10 million businesses.
Apart from this, Paytm has also upgraded its IoT device Soundbox 2.0. The new device, unlike its previous version, comes with a digitally enabled screen that also provides instant visual confirmation of paid amount with voice-based response.
Apart from this, traders can click on the function button twice and get the payment summary for the whole day. At the same time, after the battery runs out, it will also announce this by announcing it. It has a 2000mAh battery and a SIM card slot and can be used without a WiFi connection.
The earlier Soundbox used to cost a one-time charge of Rs 500 and Rs 100 per month, but now Soundbox 2.0 requires merchants to pay a one-time charge of 750 and a monthly charge of Rs 125. It can be ordered from today.
