Good news is coming for pensioners in 2022. The government has approved to credit their increased Dearness Relief (DR) to their pension account. This will benefit crores of pensioners. The government has asked the banks to start calculating the pension to the pensioners whose dearness relief has been increased accordingly. Banks need not wait for the orders of the concerned department.
According to Satish Kumar Garg, Senior Accounts Officer, Central Pension Accounting Office, banks have to release funds to Central Civil Pensioners, Freedom Fighters (SSS Yojana), Justices of the Supreme Court, Members of Parliament and other pensioners at the earliest. This will include the increase that their departments have put in place. Those departments have already issued orders in this regard. If the Pension Drawing Bank has not received the order, then it can get its information on their portal.

Let us tell you that the government has already increased the Dearness Relief (DR) of Freedom Fighters. Revised rates of dearness relief to freedom fighter pensioners have been implemented with effect from July 1, 2021. His pension has been increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 9000. The Ministry of Home Affairs had given instructions on 28 July 2021, which is regarding giving 29% dearness relief to the freedom fighter with effect from 1 July 2021.
How much pension will you get now?
The pension of Ex-Andaman Political prisoners/spouses has been increased from Rs.30,000 a month to Rs.38,700.
Freedom fighters who were victims outside India. They will be given pension increased from Rs 28,000 to Rs 36,120 per month.
Other freedom fighters including INA will get 33,540 months pension increased from 26,000.
Dependent guardian / eligible daughter will get pension increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 19,350 per month.
