Mumbai: SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara has said that he will provide unsecured personal loans to Covid-infected families during the Corona epidemic. He said not only SBI but all public sector banks were ready to lend without any security. Also, loans were made available to improve health care infrastructure, he said. SBI will provide loans ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 5 lakh.
Dinesh Khara said the bank would charge 8.50 per cent interest on the loans taken. Other banks are said to be different when it comes to interest rates. Banks are ready to lend to corona treatment under the Emergency Personal Loan Scheme 4.0 (Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme). Raj Kiran Roy, Chairman, Indian Banks Association (IBA), along with Sunil Mehta, Chief Executive Officer, IBA, made the remarks while addressing the media today.
