Prices soared 12 times in May
From May 4, petrol and diesel prices were increased for 4 consecutive days, while the prices of petrol and diesel had remained peaceful for the first 18 days due to elections. Petrol and diesel have become costlier by 12 times in May. Petrol rates in Delhi have increased by Rs 2.81 so far in May, while diesel has become expensive by Rs 3.34 this month.
Petrol and diesel became cheaper in March, April
The common people got some relief from expensive petrol and diesel on 15 April. Petrol and diesel prices were cut three times in April and in the month of March. Before April 15, the last change in the prices of petrol and diesel took place on 30 March 2021. Then petrol in Delhi was cheaper by 22 paise and diesel by 23 paise. Petrol became 61 paise cheaper in March and diesel prices were reduced by 60 paise. The biggest reason for the 3 times cut in petrol diesel prices in March was the weakness of crude oil in the global market.

Petrol and diesel fire in 2021
Petrol and diesel have become expensive 12 times in May. Earlier in February, the rate of petrol and diesel was increased 16 times. Earlier in January, rates were increased 10 times. Petrol becomes expensive by Rs 22 in 1 year
If comparing today’s prices with prices exactly one year ago, then on 24 May 2020, the rate of petrol in Delhi was Rs 71.26 per liter, that is, petrol has become expensive by Rs 21.95 per liter in the year. Diesel was also Rs 69.39 per liter on 24 May 2020, which means diesel has also become costlier by Rs 14.68 per liter in a year.
