Jaipur: In protest against higher VAT on fuel in Rajasthan, petrol pump operators across the state will keep petrol pumps closed for two days on Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm. State President of Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association, Rajendra Singh Bhati said that this decision has been taken in protest against the high Value Added Tax (VAT) on fuel in the state. He said that petrol pumps across the state will remain closed from 10 am to 6 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Demand to reduce weight
Bhati threatened an indefinite strike from September 15 if the state government failed to act on the issue. He said, “High VAT has affected not only the pump operators but also the public. We have been repeatedly demanding the state government to reduce VAT but this issue has not been addressed.”
Petrol in Sriganganagar Rs 112.74 per liter

Petrol prices in Sriganganagar district of the state are the highest in the country. Here the price of one liter petrol is Rs 112.74 while the price of diesel is Rs 97.57 per liter.
